Effective date: 7 October 2026
Tutorro (“Tutorro”, “we”, “us”) is an AI English tutor available at tutorro.ai, in the web app at app.tutorro.ai and in our Android and iOS apps (together, the “Service”). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who processes it and what choices you have.
1. Data we collect
Account data
You can sign in in two ways:
- Email one-time code. We store your email address and send you a short code to confirm it. We do not use passwords.
- Google sign-in. Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use them only to create and identify your account. We do not request access to your contacts, Gmail, Drive or any other Google data.
Learning data
- Your learning progress: goals, level, lessons, words and exercises you have completed.
- Your answers to lessons and exercises.
- Your conversations with the AI tutor: text messages and, when you use voice, the voice turns and their transcripts.
- App settings such as interface language and reminder preferences.
Technical data
Basic technical information needed to run the Service securely, such as session tokens, device and browser type and server logs. We do not use advertising trackers.
2. How we use your data
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To build personal lessons, check your answers and let the AI tutor talk with you.
- To remember your progress across the web, Android and iOS apps.
- To fix bugs, prevent abuse and improve the quality of the Service.
- To answer you when you contact support.
We process your data because it is needed to provide the Service you asked for, and, for security and improvement, on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a reliable product.
3. AI processing
The tutor is powered by large language and speech models from third-party providers. Your messages, voice turns and lesson answers are sent through our own AI router to model providers such as OpenRouter, Anthropic and OpenAI, which generate the tutor’s replies and lessons. These providers act as processors on our behalf and receive only what is needed to produce a response. Please do not share sensitive personal information in your conversations with the tutor.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not show ads and do not share your data with advertisers.
- We do not use Google user data for anything other than signing you in.
5. Where your data is stored
Our servers are hosted in the European Union (Germany). Some AI providers may process requests outside the EU; when that happens, the transfer is limited to producing a response and is covered by the provider’s data protection terms.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, learning progress, answers and conversations, except for limited records we must keep for security or legal reasons.
7. Your rights and choices
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or restrict its processing. To delete your account, go to Settings → Delete account in the app, or email us at [email protected] from the address linked to your account. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls and separated environments to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date and, for significant changes, let you know in the app or by email.
